The Jacks traveled to Marshall, MN tonight for a non-conference matchup against Division II opponent the Southwest Minnesota State University Mustangs.
The Jacks fell behind early in the first half as the Mustangs would be sharp from behind the three point line. The Jacks would answer with 3-pointers of their own to keep the Mustangs within reach. However, the Mustangs would capitalize on early fouls by the Jacks to grow their lead. The Jacks went into halftime down 56-27.
The Jacks' offense would pick up in the second half, as they would get on the board first. A 9-2 run allowed the Jacks to chip away at the Mustang lead. However, the Mustangs were able to answer, keeping the Jacks at bay. The Jacks pulled off a 10-2 run late in the half, but it wasn't enough. The Mustangs would be able to hold on to their lead, winning by a final score of 92-61.
Modesta Britten recorded a team high 23 points and 5 rebounds, while Ben Arqueros Jr would also tally 5 rebounds in the game.
The Jacks will be back in action on 11/24 at Lakeland University. Tip off is scheduled for 2pm.
