The Jacks traveled to Hancock, MI tonight for a non-conference contest against the Lions.
The Jacks offense came out hot to start the game as
Brandon Galland and Benny Larry Jr. would both hit threes to put the Jacks up 6-0. Another 3-pointer by Galland would send the Jacks on a 9-0 run to start the scoring over the Lions. The Jacks continued to hit threes throughout the first half eventually building their lead to 15. The Lions chipped away at the Jacks lead, but the Jacks were able to take a 32-23 lead into halftime.
The Lions struck first in the second half, and would eventually cut the Jacks lead down to five. However, the Jacks continued to hit key shots and keep distance between themselves and the Lions. The Lions rallied back late to get within one of the Jacks.
Modesta Britten would sink consecutive layups to get the Jacks back out in front by five. That would be all the Jacks needed as they would hold on to win by a final score of 64-55.
Benny Larry Jr. scored a team high 21 points, while
Modesta Britten recorded seventeen. Britten led the team in assists with 5 and rebounds with 14.
The Jacks will be back on the court 11/17 at Division II Bemidji State University for a matchup against the Beavers. The game is scheduled to begin at 4pm.
