The LumberJills traveled to New Ulm, MN today for a conference matchup against the Martin Luther College Knights.
In set one, the Jills jumped out to an early lead. However, the Knights would rally back to take the lead later on in the set. The Jills wouldn't be able to catch the Knights in time and would lose set one 25-19.
The Jills jumped out in front again to start set two, but the Knights would battle back. A four point rally and a five point rally by the Knights later in the set would give them a lead that they wouldn't lose. The Jills would drop set two 25-11.
In the final set of the match, the Jills would fall into an early 10-1 deficit. However, the Jills would rally back later in the set to chip away at the Knights' lead. A seven point rally by the Jills late would allow them to jump back in the game. However, it wouldn't be enough as the Knights would hold on to win set three 25-15.
Julie Molina led the Jills with 5 kills, while
Vivienne Kallio,
Nora Hagen, and
Caitlyn Severson each recorded 4.
Caitlyn Severson had a team high 8 assists.
Adrianna Galtieri led with 11 digs, while
Katelyn Wicks finished the day with 10.
The Jills will be back in action 10/24 at the University of Wisconsin Superior at 7pm.
