Chelsea Meierotto

Northland College Athletics and Interim Athletic Director Seamus Gregory has announced Chelsea Meierotto as the Head Volleyball Coach at Northland College. 

Meierotto, the native of Washburn, WI and 2002 graduate of Washburn High School, comes to Northland College after serving as the Head Varsity Coach of Washburn High School. Meierotto was also an Assistant Coach for Washburn from 2009-2015. During that time, Meierotto helped coach the Castle Guards to five conference and six regional championships. Meierotto also spent four years as Head Coach of the North Shore Volleyball Club, most recently in 2016 and the 2008-09 season as an assistant coach for the University of WI-Superior. 

As a player, Meierotto was a four year starter at the University of Minnesota Duluth (2003-2006) and was part of two final four appearances with the Bulldogs. In 2005 she was named Defensive Specialist of the Year. From 1999-2002, Meierotto was a member of the Washburn High School Volleyball team, there she was a four year starter and three time all-conference award winner. Meierotto was also part of three conference and four regional championship teams and a member of the 2000 State Champion and 2002 State tournament teams.

"I am extremely grateful and excited for this opportunity" commented Meierotto. "I look forward to the challenge of building a strong and competitive volleyball program here at Northland College". 

Interim Athletic Director, Seamus Gregory commented, "Upon review of the candidate pool for our Women's Volleyball position, we were looking for passion and the energy to get the program back in the hunt of things in the UMAC (Upper Midwest Athletic Conference). Chelsea Meierotto is somebody whom we believe can do that in a short time. She has the coaching experience and is also ready to take the next step in her career and we couldn't be more excited to have her join our staff. It will take a little time but Chelsea is most definitely up to the task, we're excited".
