James Stumpo joined the Northland Lacrosse program in the fall of 2019. Stumpo joined the Jacks after leading the boys varsity program at Hargrave Military Academy in Chatham, Virginia.
Stumpo is no stranger to DIII athletics as he played for Randolph College. Upon his hire, Athletic Director Seamus Gregory commented, "We are excited to have James join our staff here at Northland College. In this particular situation we took our time with the process as we were looking for someone who not only fit our community as the Coach of Men's Lacrosse but who also believes in our mission and the strong education we offer here at Northland College.”
Stumpo’s first season in charge was the spring of 2021 which saw the program face unprecedented challenges in the face of COVID-19. Ultimately the season was cut short as programs around the country had to cancel their seasons.
