Shane Ellias

Shane Ellias enters his second season as an assistant coach at Northland and will serve as the pitching coach.

During his first season on the LumberJack coaching staff, the pitching staff ranked in the top 3 of numerous conference statistical pitching categories and received pitcher of the week accolades four times during the 2015 season. Additionally, the team ERA was the lowest it’s been since the 2006 season.

Prior to Northland, Ellias had been a volunteer assistant for the Mellen Granite Diggers high school baseball team located in Mellen, Wisconsin for 4 seasons.

Coach Ellias’ playing career model his coaching stops as he was a member of the Northland College Baseball Team where he was a pitcher from 2010-2014. He was a two-time member of the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference All-Sportsmanship team and was a four year UMAC Academic All-Conference award recipient.

Coach Ellias played high school baseball for Mellen High School, earning All-Conference honorable mention his Junior year and First team All-Conference his Senior year both as a starting pitcher. As a pitcher for the Granite Diggers, he never lost a conference game that he started and helped contribute to a conference championship, two regional championships, and two sectional appearances.

“Coach Ellias exemplifies what it means to be a LumberJack player and coach. He has a great passion for Northland College and works hard to be successful as a coach, just as he did when he was a player. Coach Ellias assists in all facets of this program and we are lucky to have him on staff,” said Coach Weinmeister.

Ellias graduated Magna Cum Laude with a bachelor’s degree in Business Management with an emphasis in Small Business from Northland College in 2014.
