ASHLAND, Wis.– The Northland College Volleyball team fell 0-3 (15-25, 16-25, 22-25) to Crown College Saturday afternoon in Upper Midwest Athletic Conference play in Ashland, Wis. Sophomore
Britta Josephson set a season-high with 17 kills in the three sets.

To start the match NC scored the first two points with Josephson recording her first kill. The Polars took the lead with the next three points for the only lead change of the set. Crown pulled away to a 10-point lead after a service ace. Northland responded with an 8-to-2 rally with Josephson scoring on four attacks. The Polars closed out the set by scoring seven of the next eight points.

The Polars started set two with an early 5-1 lead.
Leah Allan broke up the rally with her third kill of the match. CC then went on its largest run of the set with the next five points. Northland strung together four points in a row with Allan and Josephson recording a kill to make the score 16-12. The Polars would take the second set 16-25.

The third set went back and forth until Northland took at 7-4 lead with Josephson scoring the seventh point. The set was close with the lead changing six times and the score was tied 10 times. The Polars matched the Jills pace as Northland was up 20-18. Crown took six of the last seven points to take the set and the match 25-22.

Josephson set a season-high with 17 kills and hit .255. Allan also reached double figures with 11 kills.
Anna Campbell chipped in four kills and
Kodie Rempp and
Ellison DeZwarte had three. Campbell and Rempp set up the offense with 15 and 14 assists respectively.

Josephson led the defense as well with 23 digs and Allan was not far behind with 19. Campbell had a season-high 15 digs. Rempp had the team's sole block coming in the opening set.

On Friday, Oct. 4 Northland travels to North Central University for a 7 p.m., UMAC match.
