ASHLAND, Wis. – The Northland College Softball team dropped its home opener 16-0 to Bethany Lutheran College 16-0 Thursday afternoon in Ashland, Wis.

In Northland's first at-bat,
Janna Bode singled up the middle. After that, the bats went quiet with the LumberJills not recording a hit for the remainder of the game.
Mackenzie Backman reached base for NC drawing a walk in the third inning. Backman advanced to third base and attempted to score on a ball outside but was thrown out at the dish.

Miraya McFall started in the circle for the Jills. The freshman pitched a complete game with five strikeouts and allowed eight earned runs. Kayla Senne earned the win after four scoreless innings and four ks.

The Jills and Vikings wrap up the series tomorrow (Friday) with a doubleheader starting at noon at Ponzio Stadium.
