PEORIA, Ill. – In its final game in Peoria, Ill., the Northland College Softball team fell 10-0 to Augustana College in five innings Friday morning.

The first two batters of the game reached base safely with
Janna Bode reaching on an error then
Mackenzie Backman singled to third.
Hailey Minnema drew a walk to load the bases with one out, but an inning-ending double play left the runners on base.

The Vikings put up two runs in the first inning and did not stop there. After a one-two-three inning from
Ariana Wilson, Augustana homered in the third and put seven in the fourth to win 10-0.

Northland recorded three hits in the game, all singles, coming from Backman,
Elizabeth Peters, and
Olivia Rowbotham. Minnema, Wilson, and
Alison Murphy all reached base from a walk.

Wilson pitched three innings with three strikeouts and only one walked batter.
Miraya McFall entered the game in the fourth inning after the Vikings put up seven. McFall stopped the damage by striking out two batters in the inning. Mikaylin Hofer earned the win with four innings pitched, three strikeouts, and zero earned runs.

The Jills travel to Augsburg University on Tuesday for a doubleheader starting at 3:30 p.m.
