NEW ULM, Minn. – The Northland College Men's Basketball team after trailing by 10 nearly completed the comeback against Martin Luther College 72-69 in Upper Midwest Athletic Conference play Saturday evening in New Ulm, Minn.

Stephen Kesti stole the ball that led to a
Drew Lindberg opening three-pointer. Lindberg continued the hot streak scoring seven of Northland's first nine points. Northland pulled to a nine-point lead after
Jordan Brennan went 2-of-2 from the free throw line. The Jacks continued to keep the lead but MLC would start to creep up on them. With a one-point advantage, Brennan connected from behind the arc in back-to-back trips to pull ahead 26-19. In the final shot of the half the Knights tied the game at 35 entering halftime.
Martin Luther built off its strong final minutes of the half to start the second half with an early nine-point lead. For the remained of the half, the Jacks were kept at arm's length from the lead. Down the final stretch, Northland put together a six-point run with two points from Lindberg and four from
Langston Flowers to pull within one. Flowers pulled the score within one in the final minute with another three-pointer. The Knights went up three after two more free throws and the Jacks had the chance to tie the game but were unable to get the three-point shot to fall.
Four LumberJacks reached double-figures in the contest with Brennan leading the team with 18. Flowers was second on the team with 16, Lindberg finished with 14 and
Jahlani Thornton had 10. Northland was 8-for-16 from the floor scoring a game-high three.
Thornton led the team defensively with nine rebounds, coming up one shy of the double-double. Brennan finished behind him with six.
Tyler Tuura paced the Jacks on the offensive glass with two offensive rebounds. Flowers led the team with four steals and Kesti recorded NC's sole block.
