The Sabres bested the Jacks in the last home game of 2024

ASHLAND, Wis. – The Northland College Men's Basketball team was bested 37-76 by Marian University Friday afternoon in non-conference play in Ashland, Wis.

Marian built its lead early, scoring the first 12 points of the game. Ari Pierson got the Jacks on the board with a jumper. After two more minutes, Pierson was at the line and went 1-of-2. The next basket came on the following drive as Ian McFaggen knocked down a triple to double NC's score. After a Sabres' three-pointer, Pierson responded back his first three-ball of the game. McFaggen would do the rest of the scoring for the LumberJacks with the next five points.

To start the second half MU continued to pad its lead with seven straight points. Donovan Washington stopped the rally with his first make after coming away with a steal. After only two LumberJacks scored in the first half, five more added points in the second half.

McFaggen led the scoring for NC tallying a season-high 13 points. Tyler Tuura and Pierson finished behind him with six. Alex Erikson was 2-for-2 from the field and 1-of-1 from deep to add five points. Ryan Ehlert and Jahlani Thornton had a team-high two assists. On the other side of the ball, Stephen Kesti paced the Jacks with five rebounds, Thornton, Washington, Pierson, and Ehlert were one behind with four. Northland blocked six shots with Kesti sending two back.
