ASHLAND, Wis.--- The Northland College Men's Lacrosse team continued MLC conference play this afternoon at Ponzio Stadium against Cornell College. The Jacks fell by a final score of 16-12.

Phil Peacy got the Jacks going offensively to start today's game, making a nice move and play on the right side of the box to put it past the Cornell keeper to make it 1-0. Cornell quickly found their groove, scoring the next 8 goals to take the commanding 8-1 lead over the Jacks. The Jacks wouldn't back down, scoring 4 quick goals in the second off the sticks of
Kyle Parker (2) and Peacy (1) and
Brodie Trollop to make it 8-5.
Jackson Breton scored a man-up goal with time winding down in the first half as the Jacks trailed 10-6 going into halftime.
The Jacks continued to play well, scoring the next three goals to put themselves within 1 as Peacy, Breton and
Cody Pfaller scored to make it 10-9. Cornell and Northland would exchange goals before the end of the 3rd as the Jacks trailed 12-10 going into the final period. Trollop and Breton each scored in the 4th but Cornell slowly pulled away from the game, scoring four goals and eventually came away with the win today 16-12 over the Jacks.
Northland out shot Cornell 46-33 in today's game.
Tony Donaldson made 6 saves in net today for the Jacks.
Cody Pfaller was a machine in the face-off circle, winning 27 of 31 face-offs and collected 15 ground balls.
Aidan Hood led all LumberJacks with 4 caused turnovers.
The Jacks continue MLC play next weekend (April 15th) as they travel to Minneapolis, MN for a matchup against Northwestern MN. Game time is scheduled for 3pm.
