ASHLAND, Wis.--- The Northland College Lacrosse team hosted Beloit College this afternoon at Ponzio Stadium in a non-conference matchup. The Jacks scored 6 in the first half and scored 4 more in the second to win 10-7 over Beloit College and secure their first victory of the 2023 season and first NCAA Head Coaching win for Coach

After an early goal from Beloit, the Jacks were able to tie the game minutes later as
Kyle Parker found the back of the net. With time winding down in the first, the LumberJacks were able to connect on the man up goal off some nice moves from
Brodie Trollop. Early in the second,
Andrew Liwiski was able to rush half he field and hammer his first goal of the season home to make it 3-1. Minutes later, Beloit was able to score back to back goals to tie the game but Northland responded, this time with three of their own from
Matt Maudsley and two from Trollup to take a 6-3 lead into the half.
Beloit came out of the half firing on all cylinders, scoring back to back goals making in a one score game. The Jacks once again would respond as Andren Stroik and
Cody Pfaller scored goals to give the Jacks the 8-5 lead. Beloit once again, made it a one score game scoring late in the third and early in the 4th before Liwiski and Maudsley scored goals in the 4th to give the Jacks the 10-7 victory.
Trollop led all LumberJacks offensively today, scoring 3 goals and adding an assist.
Max Shafer led all LumberJacks with 4 caused turnovers on defense.
The Jacks out-shot Beloit 37-20 in today's game with
Tony Donaldson making 5 saves in goal today for the Jacks.
The Jacks are back in action this Wednesday as they travel to Madison, WI for a non-conference game against Edgewood College. Game time is set for 4pm.
