Northland Women's Hockey played host to Marian University for a non-conference game on Friday night at the Bay Area Civic Center. The Sabres scored two power-play goals to break a 1-1 tie and beat the Jills 1-3.

The Northland College Women's Hockey returned to the Bay Area Civic Center for the first time in the new year on Friday night, hosting Marian University for a non-conference matchup. The LumberJills were able to score the tying goal with roughly eight minutes into the first period, before allowing two power-play goals in the remainder of the game to lose 1-3.
Mahteya Dumelie scored the lone goal in the game for the LumberJills at the 8:17 mark. The goal was the first of the season for the senior forward.
Taylor Richmond and
Kyleigh Moffatt each picked up assists on the play. Teagan Johnson, making her seventh start of the season in net, tallied 30 saves on the night.
Northland (2-14-1, 0-4-0 WIAC) will return to the BACC on Saturday afternoon for a rematch with the Sabres. Faceoff is scheduled for 2:00 PM.
