Langston Flowers scored a team-high 18 points to help Northland secure their second conference win of the season, snapping a five game losing streak.

The Northland College Men's Basketball team began a weekend road trip on Friday night with a conference matchup at the University of Minnesota-Morris. The LumberJacks had four starters score in double figures enroute to the 75-71 road victory.
Langston Flowers scored a team-high 18 points, while
Jordan Brennan,
Drew Lindberg and
Adam Billingsly all contributed double digits as well. The Jacks out-rebounded the Cougars by 11 to erase an eight point halftime deficit and win by four.
Brennan got the LumberJacks on the board first with a three-pointer as they started the contest on a 7-0 run. The Cougars clawed their way back to make the game 14-12. Brennan then hit threes on back-to-back possessions to open the lead up to 20-12. Morris then used a 16-6 run of their own to take their first lead of the night. A
Ryan Rawlings jumper knotted the game at 28. The shot wasn't enough to halt the Cougar momentum as they finished the half on an 8-0 run to take a 36-28 halftime lead.
Lindberg opened the scoring in the second half and, following a steal by Billingsly, Brennan hit a fast-break layup to cut the deficit in half. A missed Cougar three lead to a Flowers three-pointer in transition and a one point game. Billingsly's three with 15:54 to go put Northland back in front. The two teams traded leads multiple times over the next eight minutes before the Cougars grew their lead back to five.
George Butvilas' back-to-back threes at the 6:25 mark put the Jacks back in front by one, a lead they would never give up. Morris used a four point run in the game's final two minutes to cut the Northland lead to one with :38 to go. Following a timeout with :19 left Flowers hit a three-pointer to seal the victory for the LumberJacks.
Northland (4-11, 2-2 UMAC) will be back on the court tomorrow to conclude the weekend road-trip at Crown College. Tip-off is scheduled for 3:00 PM.
