ASHLAND, Wis.--- The Northland College Men's Lacrosse team hosted Northwestern MN in a Midwest Lacrosse Conference matchup this evening at Ponzio Stadium. The Jacks, who trailed 6-4 late in the third period, scored four consecutive goals to secure the victory over the Eagles for their first MLC win of the season. Today's win also improves the Jacks overall record to 5-4 on the season.

After a physical opening few minutes, it was the Eagles who opened tonight's scoring early in the first with the first two goals of the game before
Cody Pfaller hit the twine to make it 2-1. In the second,
Jakob Wohlford continued his strong season with a beauty of a goal to make it 2-2. Later in the second, The Jacks offense continued the pressure with a goal from
Hoy Kelley. With seconds winding down late in the first half, Pfaller was able to pick up his second of the game as the Jacks trailed 5-4 at the half.
After a goal from the sticks of Northwestern to open the half, the Jacks offense dug deep with goals from
Brodie Trollop and
Eric Honold, who made a beautiful spin move and fired home the tying goal early in the 4th period. With time winding down and the game on the line it was Northland's captain,
Jakob Wohlford, scoring with just three minutes left in the game. After a late Northwestern penalty, the Jacks put the icing on the cake with man up goal from Kelley to go on to take tonight's game 8-6 over the Eagles.
The LumberJacks big three on defense of
Aidan Hood,
Alistair Hearmon and
Jacob Taylor combined for a total of 19 caused turnovers.
Viktor Wennberg picked up his fourth win of the season, making 11 saves.
The Jacks continue conference play this weekend as they travel to Mount Vernon, IA to take on Cornell College. Game time is set for 1pm.
