MANKATO, Minn.--- The Northland College Softball team traveled to Mankato, MN for a pair of UMAC conference games against UW-Superior and Bethany Lutheran College. The Jills dropped a close one in game one to UW-Superior, 4-3 and came away victorious 4-3 against top ranked Bethany Lutheran 4-3.
Game 1
After a scoreless three innings, it was UWS to score first, scoring 2 runs in the bottom of the fourth inning. The Jills however responded with three of their own as
Allison Kile,
Jenna Reyes and
Kayla Preisler each scored runs to give the Jills the 3-2 lead. UWS would however tie the game in the 6th and eventually walk off the game in the 7th to take the win 4-3 over the Jills.
Sofia Garcia pitched brilliantly for the Jills, pitching 6.2 innings, giving up 3 earned runs off of 8 hits and struck out two batters.

Saylor Donnelly each collected hits in game one.
Game 2
Much like game one it was the opponents, Bethany taking the early lead scoring two runs in the top of the second inning for the early lead.
Jenna Reyes would get the Jills on the board with an rbi double, scoring
Kaylee Harnack in the third inning but Bethany would hit a solo home run in the 4th to take the 3-1 lead. The Jills tied the game in the fourth as Elisabeth Peters hammered an rbi double, scoring
Saylor Donnelly. Peters later scored off a wild pitch to tie the game 3-3. After a scoreless 5th and 6th inning and the game tied 3-3 in the 7th,
Saylor Donnelly hit a walk-off single, scoring Harnack to give the Jills the 4-3 victory over Bethany.
Kayla Preisler, finished her day in the circle going 7.0 innings, giving up three earned runs on 12 hits while striking out 2 batters.
Preisler, Donnelly and Peters each collected two hits in game two for the Jills.
The Jills close out UMAC play today (April 30th) as they host Martin Luther College in Mankato, MN. Game time is set for 1pm.
