Beloit, WI - The Northland College LumberJacks opened their 2022 season with a dominant 7-2 win over Beloit College. The Jacks are now 1-0 to start the year, while the Buccaneers dropped to 0-2.
The Jacks jumped out to a 3-0 lead before the Buccaneers got on the scoreboard with two goals from
Jakob Wohlford and another from
Brodie Trollop. After the Buccaneers made it 3-1, Wohlford found the back of the net again to give the Jacks a three goal lead going into halftime.
The Buccaneers scored first in the second half, but the Jacks responded with three unanswered goals to pick up the 7-2 win. The Jacks held a 46-14 shot advantage throughout the game.
Elijah Clark picked up the win in net and made four saves on the afternoon. Freshman
Luke Ballard tied the single game record for most caused turnovers in a game.
The Jacks are in action next Saturday when they travel to Milwaukee School of Engineering for a 1:00pm matchup.
