Northland College Women's Hockey picked up their second win in a row on Friday night, beating Lawrence University 4-1 at the Bay Area Civic Center.

The Northland College Women's Hockey team returned to the Bay Area Civic Center on Friday night for their second non-conference game of the week, as they played host to Lawrence University. For the second time this week, the LumberJills came out on top with a 4-1 win over the Vikings.
Northland jumped out to the early lead in the first period when McKenna Freerksen found the net at the 10:25 mark. The goal was the first of the season for the junior forward.
Elle Black and Kyleigh Moffatt each picked up assists on the goal. The LumberJills outshot the Vikings 16-5 in the opening period. The second period started out quick for the Jills, as Freerksen scored her second goal of the contest three minutes in to the period.
Mahteya Dumelie and Taylor Richardson picked up assists on the goal, and the Jills held the two-goal advantage. The Vikings got themselves on the board nearly ten minutes later with a power-play goal following a Northland penalty at the 14:48 mark. The score remained 2-1 through the second intermission. Yvonne Durfee scored her first goal of the season seven minutes into the third period to push the lead back to two. Five minutes later she picked up an assist on
Elle Black's goal to provide the final margin.
Teagen Johnson, who earned the win in goal for the LumberJills, made 18 saves on the night.
Northland (2-5-1, 0-3-0 WIAC) will take on the Vikings again on Saturday afternoon. The game is scheduled to start at 2:00 PM at the BACC.
