MINNEAPOLIS, Minn.--- The Northland College Volleyball team traveled to Minneapolis, MN today for a UMAC Conference double-header against North Central MN and Northwrstern MN. The Jills would fall in both matches, loosing a nail-biter against North Central (3-2) and fell to UNW (3-0)

In game one against North Central, the Jills quickly found themselves down 2 sets to 0 but eventually clawed their way back in the match, winning the third set 25-15 and the fourth set 25-21 to set up the winner take all 5th. After taking the first three points in the 5th and an eventual kill by
Elizabeth Montgomery, the Jills carried the 7-3 lead however things quickly changes minutes later with the lead 10-6, North Central went on an 6-1 run and take the match 15-13 over the Jills.
Larissa Fossum led all LumberJills in kills with 17 while
Alexa Zadra collected 25 digs and
Rachel Callow had 38 assists.
In game two, the Jills took on #4 nationally ranked Northwestern MN. UNW won in three sets (25-8, 25-17, 25-20). Fossum led the Jills in kills with 7 and digs with 12. Callow collected 13 assists in the loss.
The Jills continue UMAC conference play this Tuesday (October 11th) as they travel to UW-Superior. Game time is set to start at 7pm.
Northland College is an NCAA Division III institution located in Ashland, WI. The LumberJacks and LumberJills sponsor 14 varsity sports and compete in the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference, Midwest Lacrosse Conference and the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.
