Jacks Wrap Up Weekend Series With UWS

SUPERIOR, Wis.-- The Northland College Baseball team traveled to UW-Superior today for a non conference double header. The Jacks would fall in a game one slugfest, 20-10 and drop game two, 5-3.

Game 1

After trailing early, the Jacks would use an astonishing back to back to back to back (4) home runs consecutively from Adrian Bethel, Noah Cross, Joseph Veit and Rian Arreazola to make it a 12-7 game in the fourth inning. Seth Hackbarth would join the home run parade in the 7th inning but UWS would take game one, 20-10.

Adrian Bethel would lead all LumberJacks at the plate going 3-4 with 2 runs scored and 2 rbi's.

Noah Cross, Vinny Trocolli, Eli Hart and Gabe Lanhart would all see time on the mound for the Jacks.

Game 2

After a 4 run UWS second inning, game two would turn out to be a defensive/pitching battle between the LumberJacks and Yellow Jackets. The Jacks would finally break the goose egg in the top of the 5th inning as Noah Cross would hammer a 2 rbi home run to make it a 4-2 ball game. After a UWS run in the 5th, Matt Simpson laced an rbi double down the right field line, scoring Rian Arreazola to make it a 5-3 game but the Jacks would be unable to bring any more runs around and dropped game two, 5-3.

Seth Hackbarth, who got the start on the mound for the Jacks would pitch strong, pitching a complete game, allowing 5 runs, while striking out 5.

The Jacks will continue their non-conference schedule next Saturday (March 27th) vs. the College of St. Scholastica. First pitch in game one is set to start at 1pm.
