Ashland, WI - The Northland College LumberJills picked up their first win of the season on Saturday evening with a 2-1 win over the visiting Finlandia University Lions. The Jills are now 1-8 on the year and 1-3 in the WIAC.
McKenna Freerksen gave the Jills a lead in the first period off of assists from
Karadyn Kiviaho and Maddy Bloedel.
Lauren Klein scored the eventual game winner on a power play late in the third period. Teagan Johnson made 31 saves in net for the Jills while picking up her first win.
The Jills are in action again right away as they travel to Finlandia on Sunday. Gametime is set for 6:00PM (EST).
