Ashland, WI - The Northland College Lumberjacks came out hot in the second half and overcame an eight point halftime deficit, but ultimately the Lawrence University Vikings put in a strong defensive effort over the final five minutes to leave Ashland with a 81-66 win. The Jacks are now 0-4 on the year while the Vikings are 1-2.
George Butvilas came off the bench for the Jacks and led all scorers with 19 points. Butvilas shot 7-15 overall and 5-10 from beyond the arc on the evening.
Jordan Brennan added fourteen points and five rebounds for the Jacks.
The Jacks continue their tough opening schedule this week with trips to DII University of Minnesota - Duluth as well as DII Bemidji State. The Jacks are at UMD on Tuesday. Tipoff is scheduled for 6:00PM.
