BLAINE, Minn--- The Northland College Women's Hockey team traveled to Blaine, MN this evening to open the 2021-22 season with a non-conference tilt against Bethel University. The Jills would fall to Bethel by a final score of 6-1 at the Schwanns Super Rink.

After jumping out to the early lead, Bethel scored two goals in the first period and two more in the second to take the 4-0 lead after two periods of play.
Nevaeh Trihey would get the LumberJills on the board with her first goal as a LumberJill to make it 4-1 to open the third period. Bethel would however add two more insurance goals and take the season opener 6-1 over the Jills.
Maddy Bloedel led all LumberJills with 4 shots on goal.
Teagan Johnson made 41 saves in net today for the Jills.
The Jills continue their weekend series with Bethel tomorrow at 7pm.
