Stevens Point, WI – The Northland College Lumberjills had their season come to a close on Tuesday evening, as they were eliminated from the first round of the WIAC playoffs in a close 3-1 game against the UW-Stevens Point Pointers.

The two teams tied both of their regular season contests so the playoff matchup was always expected to be a battle, and both teams delivered. 

The Pointers got on the board first but the Jills quickly evened the game off of a goal by Sierra Meroniuk that was set up by Amanda Abounader.  After  scoreless second period, the Pointers took the 2-1 lead with 3:39 left in regulation.  The Pointers added an insurance goal with 1:23 left to seal the game and advance to the WIAC semifinals.

Gabby Suhr made 43 saves in net for the Jills.
