Ashland, Wisconsin—The Northland College Lumberjills Hockey team will travel to Vermont to play Castleton University on January 4
th at 1pm EST and either Buffalo State or SUNY Canton on January 5
th as part of the WSYB/Catamount Radio Invitational Tournament.
This is the first ever trip east for the Jills who are in the midst of their fourth season. Head Coach,
Kelly Rider, commented that, "It was really important for us to give a unique and special experience for the first four year cycle players of our program, especially our players that are now in their last season. Each player on our roster has been crucial for the start-up, creation, and development of our women's hockey program. We hope this trip will give players a chance to face new competition, see parts of the country they may never have had a chance to, and spend quality time with their teammates. We cannot thank the players that have chosen Northland and bought into building a program enough. We hope the experiences on this trip can help to serve as a small token of our thanks. We are also looking forward to our team showing competitors, recruits, and fans out east who we are and what Jills hockey is all about."
The Jills players and staff have dedicated a lot of time and effort in raising funds to help supplement costs of the trip and to enable the team to have the best experiences possible. If you are interested in donating to help towards the cost of the trip or to the program in general you can make a
