Ashland, WI – The Northland College Lumberjacks tuck a 36-34 lead into halftime, but the Martin Luther College Knights took control in the second half and ultimately bested the Jacks by a score of 70-58.
Jordan Brennan shot 3-5 and led the Jacks with 12 points. Benny Larry Jr. was the only other Jack in double figures with 11 points. After trailing by as many as 12 in the second half, Brennan hit two three pointers in a row to pull the Jacks within five with 4:25 remaining. The Jacks had a chance to cut it even closer but some scrappy defense from the Knights forced a turnover and a quick foul. The knights hit their free-throws down the stretch to seal the 70-58 win.
The Jacks are in action next on Wednesday when they travel to North Central University. Tip-off is set for 5:30pm.
