Carol Stream, IL-
The Northland College Baseball team traveled to Carol Stream, IL today for a pair of games vs. Aurora University and Loras College. The Jacks would fall to Aurora 15-2 and Loras 7-1.
Game 1
In game 1,
Seth Hackbarth would get the start on the mound for the Jacks. Aurora would jump out to the early 2-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning but Northland would get on the board in the top of the third as
Ben Matteson would single to left field, scoring
Carson Ferry. Aurora would open the scoring in the 3rd and 4th innings, jumping out to the 12-1 and take the game 15-2.
Noah Vinner would come in for relief 2.0 innings.
Noah Cross and
Adrian Bethel would each pick up two hits in the game.
Game 2
In game 2,
Earl Kraft would get the start on the mound for the Jacks. Loras jumped out to the early 3-0 lead after two innings, but the LumberJacks would tighten things up defensively. The Jacks would continue to battle at the plate, but would be unsuccessful bringing runs across the plate.
Adrian Bethel would double to left center in the 9th inning, scoring
Noah Cross but it wouldn't be enough as Loras would go on to take the game 7-1.
Kyle Wallace and
Jonathan Knusta would come in to pitch relief. Bethel and Cross would again lead the Jacks at the plate, both picking up two hits.
The Jacks are back in action tomorrow for a rematch (3/17) vs. Aurora and Loras. First pitch vs. Aurora is set for 1pm.
