The Northland College Volleyball team travelled to Hancock, Michigan on Tuesday to take on the Lions of Finlandia University. The Jills, led by Head Coach
Chelsea Meierotto, were victorious by sweeping the first three sets of the match in dominant fashion by the scores of (25-16, 25-14, 25-14).

The first set started off neck and neck between the Jills and the Lions. The Jills overcame an early 7-6 deficit by going on a 19-9 run to ultimately win the set by a score of 25-16.Â

The Lions really tested the Jills in the second set. With the score tied at 11, a kill by Junior,
Nora Hagen, gave the Jills a lead, and they never looked back. Northland went on to win the set 25-14.

The third set was dominated from start to finish by the Jills. The Lions tried to get back into the mix by going on a 5-0 run to make the score 22-14. However, Northland had other plans. The Jills finished on a 3-0 run and ended the game on a big kill from Sophomore,
Autumn Ninke.Â

Senior
Vivienne Kallio had a great performance on the day and led the team in both kills (10) and aces (4). Junior,
Emma Rusch led the team in assists and Junior, and Junior,
Kennedi Bernia led the team in digs.

The Jills will be back in action when they host Crown College in UMAC play at 1PM on Saturday, October 19th.Â
