The Jills squared off against Upper Midwest Athletic Conference opponent The College of St. Scholastica Saints tonight on the road.
The Saints jumped out to an early lead, but the Jills would rally back to take a four point lead. However, a back and forth battle would ensue between the teams as they traded leads throughout the first half. The Saints started to build their lead late in the first half, but the Jills would be able to keep them close. They would go into halftime down 29-25.
The Jills cut down the Saints' lead to two to start the second half and would eventually regain the lead. However, the Saints battled back to build a six point lead of their own. An 11-0 run by the Saints would allow them to put some distance between themselves and the Jills. The Jills would run out of time as they fell by a final score of 69-54.
Bryza Pizano led the Jills with 10 points, while
Katherine Taylor and
Ashton Meadows each added eight.
Sarah Houle and
Emily Nielsen each grabbed a team high 6 rebounds.
The Jills will be back on the court 1/19 at home against Martin Luther College. The game is set to begin at 3pm.
