Galtieri Surpasses 1,000 Career Digs in Jills Win

St. Bonifacius, MN -

The Jills traveled to Crown College today for a conference matchup against the Storm.

In the first set the Jills fell behind 2-0, but would quickly rally back to a 3-2 lead. However, the Storm would be able to put together a couple rallies late to take the set 24-18.

The Jills took an early lead in set 2, and would build their lead early in the set. The Storm would battle back to tie it up, but the Jills would continue to score. They would win set two 25-18.

In set 3 the Jills would once again take the first lead of the set. The Storm would come back to tie it, but the Jills offense would continue to be efficient as they would be able to retake the lead. The Storm cut the Jills deficit down to one, but it wouldn't be enough as the Jills would win the set 25-23.

In the final set of the match, the Jills got out to a 2-0 lead. The Storm once again battled back to take the lead. Both teams would keep it close as they would trade points with one another throughout the set. However, the Jills would be able to hold on, taking the set 25-20 and winning the match 3-1.

Justine Litherland had a team high 19 kills in the match, while Hannah Hitchcock would finish with 33 assists. Adrianna Galtieri recorded 24 digs in the match, while Hitchcock and Caitlyn Severson each had 19. Galtieri surpassed 1,000 career digs in the match.

The Jills will be back on the court 10/10 at the College of St. Scholastica. The match is set to begin at 7pm.
