Pam Caughran McDevitt came to Northland from Alameda Senior High School in Lakewood, Colorado, where she was active in basketball, track, and volleyball. At Northland, Pam was an outstanding player in both volleyball and basketball earning letters in both sports all four years. In volleyball, she was a leading hitter and blocker, described by Coach George Karling as "the most powerful hitter on the team." She was Most Valuable Player the '80-'81 season. In basketball, she was Outstanding Freshman and the Most Valuable Player in '79-'80. At the end of Pam's four years, she was the career leading scorer and rebounder. She also had the single-season rebounding record and the second highest single-season scoring total. Pam was instrumental in bridging the gap between the time when Northland fielded a club sport team and when it became the highly respected small college power that it is today. Pam led the team in scoring in her first three basketball games as a freshman and in eleven of nineteen games that were played her freshman year, when she teamed with 1992 inductee Kim Lloyd to lead Northland to its best season ever to that time. Pam was also active in Alpha Sigma and Sig Tau Gamma. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Studies/Biophysical Emphasis.
