Kory Gempler was inducted into Northland College's Athletic Hall of Fame for his outstanding soccer career at Northland College from 1986-1990. Kory enrolled at Northland College in 1986 and participated in the soccer program throughout his career. Kory played varsity soccer from 1986 through 1989 and was the assistant coach to the varsity soccer team in 1990. During his career, Kory received numerous accolades. He was named by the National Small College Athletic Association (NSCAA) All American in 1987, All "NAIA" District 5 Team Player in 1987, and Northern All District Team in 1988. The NSCAA named Kory to the All American Team for the second time in 1989. Kory was also the recipient of numerous team awards, including Outstanding Rookie in 1986, 3-time Most Valuable Player (a record in Northland College history) for the years of 1987, 1988, and 1989, and was elected team captain in 1988 and 1989. Kory led the soccer team in scoring in 1987, 1988, and 1989, and his career total of 50 points was a Northland College record for many years.
Kory graduated from Northland College in 1990 with a bachelor of science. He went on to become a meteorologist for Kavouras, Inc. in Minneapolis for five years and has spent the last four years as a senior meteorologist for FedEx in Memphis, Tennessee.
