Kathleen "Kathy" Martin graduated in 1978 with a degree in Chemistry. She played both basketball and volleyball while at Northland. The basketball team benefited from her talents for two seasons, and she was a starter on the volleyball team all four years, earning the team MVP title her sophomore year and being a co-captain as a sophomore, junior, and senior.
Campus involvement was not limited to the court for Martin. She was a member of the Alpha Sigma Sorority, worked as a chemistry tutor and lab assistant, as well as a Residence Hall Advisor, and later the Residence Hall Director of Memorial Hall, the women's residence.
Since leaving Northland, Martin has earned her Ph. D. at the University of Wisconsin at Madison in Physical Chemistry-Pharmacy, and she is currently teaching in the Pharmacy program at Butler University in Indiana.
