During Dennis Tiziani's two years at Northland the golf team had unprecedented success and Dennis was considered "one of the best young golfers in the northern states area." In 1962-63 Northland won the Badger-Gopher Conference title and Dennis was the medallist at the conference meet. He was also a member of the basketball team, coming off the bench as "trouble shooting" sixth man in his junior year and being a starting guard during his senior year.

For the past 20 years Dennis has been the head coach of the University of Wisconsin's men's golf team and he has been head coach of the women's team for the past 8 years. He has taken "both programs from the conference obscurity to Big Ten champions, and he has achieved national recognition for Wisconsin." Tiziani has won Big Ten Coach of the Year honors,and was named 1994 National Golf Coaches Association Midwest District Coach of the Year. He played on the PGA Tour for three years and remains one of Wisconsin's premier players. He won the State Open in 1976, is a two-time winner of the State Match Play Title, four-time winner of the Wisconsin PGA Medal play title, and has been named Player of the Year by the Wisconsin PGA four times.

Dennis and his wife Barbara are the parents of three children - Gina, Nicki, and Mario. Both Nicki and Mario were four-year letter winners with the University of Wisconsin golf teams. Dennis currently is Vice President and director of golf for Cherokee Park, Inc. in Madison, Wisconsin.
