Northland College is proud to recognize Ann (Kempf) Kief for her outstanding career as a women's basketball player. During her four years as a LumberJill, Ann earned a number of honors, including the team's Most Improved Player Award in 1989 and the District Regional Tournament MVP Award in 1991. At the time of her graduation, Ann was 8th in all-time scoring with 857 points (currently 15th), 2nd in Career Steals with 212 (currently 3rd) and is still ranked 1st in Career Assists with 750. Ann had also set single season records for steals, 80, in 1989-90 and assists, 214, in 1990- 91 and 1991-92.
Following her graduation from Northland, Ann began teaching 1st grade in Genoa City, Wisconsin. She also taught in Lac du Flambeau, Wisconsin. Ann is currently the Generation Yes Coordinator at the Park Falls, Wisconsin, Middle School. She has received recognition in Who's Who of Teachers. She maintains an interest in sports and community activities, particularly as a volunteer for Big Brothers Big Sisters, the Park Falls Parks and Recreation Committee, as a judge for the Price County Fair, and in the Little Dribblers Basketball program.
Ann lives in Park Falls, Wisconsin with her husband Tim Kief and their children, Grayson, age 3, and Grant, 6 months.
